So you’re telling me this girl sees her whole family get murdered, turns into a vampire against her will, kills her best friend because of bloodlust, gets recruited to go to an academy for the supernatural, and finds out she has TWO FUCKING MATES all in one week, when mates are such an EXTREMELY RARE thing to happen?!

As you can clearly see it was not a good book, but it was entertaining to say the least. I just hoped we got a lot of more build up to all of the different relationships and Alina processing her traumatic experience, before all of the smut. Because this girl masturbated in front of a window for some dude she just met instead of going to therapy. It is concerning. Honey, just get some help, there’s a therapist literally on campus, you have no excuse.

Tropes: vampire smut, teacher/student romance, enemies to lovers, fated mates, reverse harem

"Roses are red, violets are blue, here comes Alina and she's going to kill you"

"It was like the girl was dicknotized."

"Because of course he had to be there, and of course my fucking hormones were turning into whore-moans"

If you're still here after those quotes, welcome to the ridiculousness of Bite of Loyalty.

I went into this one knowing it would be bad but somehow it was worse than my expectations?! This book felt like I'm 13 again trying to write my first romantasy on Wattpad with no idea how relationships work but **I'm just fucking horny and wanna put it out there**.

This is erotica disguised with some half assed plot but even the spiciness was... lacking? It was like the same words over and over. Someone help this author please she needs help

Will I read the second one? I mean probably. Fucking slut I am.

I would rate this book if it weren't because I'm very confused. I think I would have enjoyed so much more if it weren't because the entirety of the plot happens in about a week. I'm all for the smut and the tropey characters and the reverse-harem vibes but make it believable; and I find it very difficult to believe that (and empathise with) someone that saw her whole family get murdered would be fingering herself in front of a window for some dude to see just a couple of days later.

Also, all this talk about everyone being obsessed with everyone when they've known each other fo 5 minutes... Yeah, nah.

I'm off to read the second book, lol.

THE LAST PAGE??????? HOLYFOOOOOK.

Ok. This book was cheesy, kinda bad-written(but not that much compared to what I have been reading recently), filled with so many clichés, messy, BUT IT WAS SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO GOOOOOOD.

I liked Lincoln, but bro, stop pushing alina against the wall.

I’m hooked. Next book, here we go!!!

Bite of Loyalty started with a bang
Spoiler by killing Alina's entire fucking family within the first chapter
but honestly I will admit that I didn't find myself actually caring about the people who died as her life before being turned was clearly not the part of the story we are here for. I do wish a small amount more time had been spent establishing the Van Helsing's universal importance, but what has been learned over the course of the book has been interesting.

I honestly didn't realise when I started this that it was apart of a whole ass universe, so I'm likely to go back and read the books that came before this one. I do feel as if the whole universe together will paint a more complete image than just the first book of this FMC's story has given me.

Spoiler
My favourite parts:
- The window scene (if you know, you know)
- Lincoln and Andrei's toxic as fuck but also somehow endearing masculinity and reactions
- Drake coming out of left field right at the end of it all
- Really well fleshed out universe and you can tell that it's been well established for some time.

What I think could've been improved:
- Alina goes from 0 to 100 pretty quickly with all 3 of the current love interests - this can be explained by the rules of the canon - since they're fated mates etc - but I do wish it had been fleshed out ever so slightly.
-Pacing is super fast and I finished this book in a day as a result, may feel slightly rushed to some readers but I really enjoyed it.
-MORE SMUT! The smut we got was awesome, but it just wasn't quite enough, so I'm waiting for it to heat up now that all 3 men are in play.

What I didn't enjoy:
- Story does feel as if it abruptly stops - but second book picks up exactly where first one stopped.
