A lovely story of a boy grappling with losing his baby sister. So sincere, so sweet, and so raw, it brought tears to my eyes more than once. (Although I'm a bit of a sap when it comes to stuff like this, so bear that in mind...)

Absolutely lovely. A very gentle and pleasing way of writing, I fell in love with Griffin & his family.
A marvelous and loving way to approach serious matters such as death & mental illness.

Will remain as one of my top picks.

Beautiful. No book has the right to be so gentle and so gut-wrenching at the same time.

I think this was a slightly darker start than the rest of the series but it doesn't take away the beauty and the love that was poured into this book. This will forever and always be my favourite series of all time, I just wished I owned it. Glenda Millard is my favourite author, who excels in writing for both middle-grade and young adult. Honestly, I really really really loved the Kingdom of Silk series. I do believe the Naming of Tishkin Silk and Layla the Queen of Hearts were really good but then came along Perry Angel's Suitcase and BAM MY LOVE BLOSSOMED INTO A DEEP ALL CONSUMING LOVE. I don't know, I don't know how to promote this book or even if I can. I'm in love with the gorgeous setting, the loveable characters, the adorable stories and the absolutely amazing family dynamic. I think anyone who enjoyed Leslye Walton's writing would enjoy these books as well though this is more for middle grade readers.
