i'm going to keep this short, just because i don't have many things to say about this one. so we'll stick with some bullet points!

i liked:
-beautiful writing. poetic and lovely
-i really connected with biz as a character. i truly felt like i was inside of her mind and seeing how jumbled up her inner monologue is
-jasper <3

i didn't like:
-kind of slow at times
-grace?? i'm lost w this one
-i have a lot of questions about that ending. what does any of that even mean
-tim.

Genuinely, I hated this book. I hated the writing, the way the storyline worked, everything. None of the characters were likeable except maybe one.

Me and my friend read this book together, 40 pages and than switched on and off. It turned into a book we could sh-t on together because we both hated it so much.

That’s really all I have to say. It’s not for everyone.

I felt sixteen again. Thanks, I hate it!

In all seriousness this book is a poetic meditation on dissociation, depression, and anxiety. It's very well written and deeply resonated with me, with some very sweet adventures through the Australian countryside. I did kind of hit a lag in the middle but I think that was me and not the book.

Follows the story of Biz as she falls deeper into mental illness and eventually gets the help she needs to recover. The narrative jumped around, but it fit within the story. It didn't give much information on what type of mental illness Biz has, but clearly shows the affects it has on her, her family, and her friends. Other topics include the grief of her father's death (who also suffered from mental illness), sexuality, and bullying.
