Lincoln and His Admirals: Abraham Lincoln, the U.S. Navy, and the Civil War by Craig L. Symonds

I have always read and learned so much about the land battles of the American Civil War but not the naval war, except between the Monitor and the Virginia. Symonds' book was a wonderful read which gave me a new understanding of Lincoln's efforts to bring the Navy into the battle and help it win the war.

This was an interesting look at Naval command during the Civil War. I am not as interested in the Navy side of things as I am of army operations during the Civil War, but it was nonetheless an interesting and informative book.
