Okay, this book was hyped to me by multiple people and ...eh? I get that the HEA is a three-book arc so I will withhold some criticism, but right now it doesn't feel that hot. The audiobook narrator's male voice for Mad Rogan also gives me the ick. BUT, this world is cool! I wish is hadn't been explained by a dry, academic preface instead of worked into the writing, but it's a nice concept. I like Nevada as a character and her weird family. I hope I'll like more of Mad Rogan as the rest of the series progresses. Fingers crossed!

Smart book. I enjoyed the mystery element though it's not usually my genre of choice. Characters were very likable and understandable. Excited to read #2

I enjoyed this one, it kept me coming back to read and invested in what would happen. It cranked up the stakes a few times with the attacks and revelations. I really loved the magic system in the Urban fantasy way, completely changed the way the world would work had this happened. I totally believed it would be like this.

I definitely want to read more of this world and see where Nevada goes in life and see her characrer grow, as well as Mad Rogan... I much orefer his given name Connor - I'm intrigued to see how their relationship grows in the future and to see if Connor himself grows as a person too.

Hidden Legacy #1
Paranormal Romance
This is not your normal PNR with steamy scenes. The paranormal is magic users. The romance is a focus and is more intimate, slow burn than instant steamy satisfaction. I have described this to friends more as urban fantasy with focus on the romantic relationship. Also a snarky PI MC. Fun book.
I just love this author and all their books!
This one was great. A world where magic users are high society. The characters are fun and have great chemistry. I love the sense of humor.
The release of the next book has, sadly been pushed, but I will definitely get the next and any after!

4 ½ ★
Omg. I cannot believe I have not read this book up until now. And all it took was a reading slump and a good friend nudging me to read it to the point she just got me the kindle version and almost had to force me to read it. But holy Rogan, am I glad I did.
It was just what I needed. Being a fan of the Andrew’s work it was easy to fall in love with the book, story and characters. They just have a way of writing that just sucks you into their books. A great talent for combining mystery with humor, magic, and romance. Plus of course the awesomely well written characters they always have. Both Main and side characters.
This book was no different and to be honest, I’m not sure who I like more Nevada or Mad lol. I really like Nevada. She not only is a bad a$$ but also really smart, funny and above all a family person and will do anything to protect them. She values human live no matter how low on the totem pole they may be. Also she stands up to Mad and resists him… well mostly.
But her speech to him at the end made me want to pull out my pom-poms and cheer for her. Go Nevada Go! But what I’m interested more than her future relationship with Mad (we all know it is coming) is her Magic. How much does she really have and why does she have that much. What is her family hiding?
Speaking of family…… I love hers, her mom is awesome but I think Grams take the cake.
Mad for some reason was not a favorite at first and it took a few chapters to warm up to him. But I’m all warm now ;) I like that he is honest and straight forward no matter the subject and he just goes for it. On the other hand I dislike the same alpha male mannerism but I think him with Nevada are the perfect match. They balance each other out so much. Plus I think she is the one who can show him again the value of human life.

The” softer” side of him whether for show or not was really nice and I loved the whole flowers office scene. But what I enjoyed ,most was Nevada and Mad going back and forth with each other, but when I came down to it they were there for each other .

Overall, great read and I cannot wait to read the next book in the series
I rate it 4 ½ ★
