I loved The Thing in the Snow. It was a super fun read and the ending really left me itching to reread it to get a hang of what actually happened.

Was recommended to me as a horror book, but there are more suspense elements and nothing truly 'scary' happens. There is some hint of the madness that can occur when extremely isolated and forced to complete mundane tasks, but nothing is depicted in a graphic manner.
Graphic: Confinement
Moderate: Medical content and Vomit

A highly original novel. A group of average people are the caretakers of the Northern Institute in a desolate, frozen, unidentified region. They are tasked by their superior Kay, to do inane tests such as determining the squeak of doors or the flatness of tables. Meanwhile, weirdness ensues. There is a mysterious thing in the snow that seems to move, they forget past conversations, start to miss time and the lights flicker with seemingly intentional communications.
This book has an incredible atmosphere which I could only describe as a mix of The Office and Lost. It was truly compelling and bingeable, but the ending was a bit lackluster.

This book is quirky and I knew it would be—that’s one reason I read it. Adams could also write comedy because there are so many beautifully comedic monologues and interactions. I laughed out loud many times. While I’m rounding up to 4 stars, I still had a lot of fun reading this book.
