I thought this was good at the beginning, and I was completely invested in it. I thought the characters had depth and fun little backgrounds. But after the first half, it lost me a little. The book ended ok, but I didn't think it was as strong as the beginning of the book.

I'd still read more by this author, for sure.

Some really good ideas. I feel like it didn’t hit the heights it could have. Huge fan of the design around the implant monster thing. Very grounded but also extremely alien. Lots of bummer stuff happens and it’s quite graphic in its depictions of violence.

This is a tough one for me to review and rate. I liked some of the characters, I liked the idea behind the story but overall I did not enjoy this book.
