I enjoyed this book much more than the first. There was more action, definitely but that isn't why. It wasn't as slow, plodding and wordy. I missed the strong-female-not-relying-on-male vibe that Xoe had before but we all change in a relationship and this was minor. I absolutely look forward to continuing this series.

Sadly, this book wasn't as good as the first one. It was over way too quickly. It was like problem, solution, the end. I think more scenes and more drama could have been added since there were new characters. I get that Xoe was trying to remain calm since she couldn't control her powers and didn't want to hurt anyone, but majority of the time it seemed like she just relented instead of fighting for what she wanted. I also would have preferred if there had been more scenes where Xoe either used her powers or tried to developed her powers. Overall, Accidental Ashes was less dramatic and less exciting than the previous book. Nonetheless, I'm excited for the third book because I can't wait to find out what happens between Xoe and Alexondre and what happens between Xoe and Chase, though it seems like Roethle was hinting at a potential love triangle.

Xoe's life is anything but normal after all she's the daughter of a powerful demon. One of her best friends is still dealing with being a werewolf and she's dating a vampire. However, their lives are threatened when werewolves and witches are disappearing up the coast. Worried that Xoe may be in danger her father sends a young demon to keep an eye on her and protect her.

Xoe's got her plate full as her friends want to make her the alpha of their little pack so they can get set up with the werewolf coalition. She doesn't need the threat of being abducted but it comes knocking taking her friends. What's a demon to do but go against her father's wishes and hunt them down even if it means risking herself.

I love Xoe so much she's such a great character. Willing to take on the role of an alpha werewolves pack so her friends will safe. I admit that I like Jason he may be a vampire but he's the added support she needs as she risks her life for her friends. I wasn't sure about Lela as we only had a little glimpse of her in the prior book but she's proven her loyalties.

Accidental Ashes starts right after the end of the first book Xoe: or Vampires, and Werewolves, and Demons, Oh My! I actually just finished the first one a few weeks ago and haven't stopped thinking of Xoe's world. Xoe and her friend's worlds have changed dramatically in just a short time and continue to evolve. I truly enjoyed every page and actually finished the book in just a few short house. I love the characters they are easy to connect with you can't help cheering them on. The author has done a beautiful job creating a captivating story which is unique and exciting. I enjoyed Accidental Ashes it was hard to put down and I ended up finishing it in one session. I highly recommend for fans of Young Adult Urban Fantasy. I can't wait to see what's going to happen next as she's going to have to accept her demon side.

So cute. This is the 2nd book in the Xoe Meyers series and I really likes it. Young adult. Clean. Teenage vampires, demons and werewolves along with normal teen drama.

I'm really enjoying this story! After finishing the first book ([b:Xoe: or Vampires, and Werewolves, and Demons, Oh My!|7303250|Xoe or Vampires, and Werewolves, and Demons, Oh My! Seeing the characters come to life, with new ambitions and the upcoming plot twist is truly stunning. I'm very much expecting a lot from the third one, [b:Broken Beasts|18196375|Broken Beasts (Xoe Meyers, #3)|Sara C. Roethle|https://images.gr-assets.com/books/1373917116s/18196375.jpg|25605774]. The originality in this story is so up my alley! The only complaint I have is of how short this one was, but it sure was sweet! (Get it, short and sweet?)

I honestly feel like I liked the first book better than this but it was still pretty good. So now as Xoe tried to control her powers, someone shows up to help her with that. (Spoiler, her dad!) Even though Xoe doesn’t want anything to do with him, he won’t leave her alone so now she has a “bodyguard” named Chase. Meanwhile, it is also Christmas time. But something not jolly has been happening. Supernatural beings have been disappearing. So that’s why Xoe has a bodyguard now. Also, Xoe is now the alpha of a wolf pack. I’m excited to see what happens in the 3rd book!
