I am writing this review well after I read the series. I have to admit that I only remember overall themes and storylines about this book. I definitely plan to reread this and give a better review. Even still, I remember loving these books and I value them as one of my favorite series and Islington as one of my favorite authors.

the first third of this book is a little patchy, but it finishes strong. the main thing to get through i think is the large lore dumps that are delivered by characters who are immediately revealed to be liars or spooks, which is not a great position to be in, because you don't really know which elements of the worldbuilding you can hang your hat on.
