A lovely and important story, I'm glad I read this. Before reading this book, I had known limited information about Ida B. Wells, which is a shame since her life is really interesting! This did a great job telling her story and sharing an important life to young kiddos. Really delightful illustrations made this story even better.

This beautifully illustrated picture book biography tells about the life of Ida B. Wells and her campaign to stop lynchings after the Civil War. She was a crusader for African-American rights and made her voice heard through her eloquent writing.

I liked this one a lot, but I think I am most excited by the list of other children's books for different ages that's listed on the last page. :-)

Picture book for older kids about the life of civil rights crusader Ida B. Wells. Decent.
