"Get rid of stuff before you die so somebody else doesn't have to do it." That's it. No techniques, no insights and not worth your time. Chapter after chapter of the same thing. Please, if you are writing for the elderly, don't dumb it down, even if you are elderly. It's insulting.

Definitely a book about declutterring written by someone who is naturally tidy. But an enjoyable and short audiobook to listen to on a road trip.

Very fast read. Refreshing style and sentiment, and good advice.

She fit a lot of zingers into a relatively short book. :)

I felt like the author was scolding people for how to live and for how the world has changed over the years. I will say she isn't wrong in many respects, but her opinions made the book less enjoyable. I got more out of Spark Joy by Marie Kondo, which I read years ago. I do think this book is useful in encouraging and steering the conversation on how to get started if you have never done a deep clean/moved/ or helped a parent move/or clean after someone who has died. I've done the latter a few times, so think it really only takes that to inspire a person to take care of their own stuff in advance so others don't have that burden. I did appreciate the author's advice to save photographs and written pieces for last as they take a larger emotional toll. Agreed.

What a charming little book! It might be a tad bit sexist, but it definitely made me laugh out loud multiple times. Without being judgmental, Magnusson gently leads us towards cleaning up our lives, if not for our own enjoyment than for the sake of the people who will be cleaning up after we die. She gave wonderful advice for all ages and stages of life and I just adored this slim little volume.

Many positions did not particularly resonate with me as I am not sure I am the ideal audience for this book. But overall some very enjoyable musings and helpful suggestions. Beautiful anecdotes about how we spend our lives and the things we collect on the way and whether or not any of it even matters.
