this was a nice addition to the main series and a quick read! i enjoyed it but i’m just not a novella girly and i was kinda confused sometimes when the little story’s in the book took place. but overall a nice end to the series!

I really enjoyed getting to read about Elfhame again, especially from Cardan’s perspective 🩷
This was a great cozy read and I wish it was longer!

I think this is a wonderful follow-up book made of short stories connected to the main series.
The illustrations are stunning and fit the story so well. (they are stunning!)

The way holly black tells folk of the air series makes it a more magical fairytale kind of story- a tale as old as times. It's one of the reasons I am so obsessed with this series. The author has a unique style of knitting these stories.
This book is definitely a book any kid could read and fall into that world once again and feel the atmosphere. revisiting that world again but this time we see things from Cardan's pov.

On the other hand, I do think the stories could have been much more complicated. The series is built on strategy, betrayals, plotting, and wickedness, I would have loved to read more short stories of a similar level.

Recommended if you read the series already, just go and get the book- its stunning and one of the best-illustrated books☺️

I’m so pleasantly surprised—which I shouldn’t be because I love this series but still! This little book was such a gem. The artwork is STUNNING. Even the quality of the pages was IMMACULATE. And it was endearing to be on Cardan’s end of things. TREASURABLE. This is basically almost like fan fic with fan art, but in the best way possible.

this was such a fun little read i loved seeing all the extra depth and development given to cardan's character, and how much he cares for jude and her family. to be loved is to be changed.
