The bright and memorable artwork of this graphic novel is heavily bogged down by a lackluster story in my opinion. Though some of the character designs could use some editing, overall the vivid art style is what carries most of the book.

The character development is tepidly surface level, with a pretty predictable and clearcut transition of the characters from the beginning to the end of the story. The obstacles the characters face are unoriginal (I mean, come on, scorned women killing all the men in a village because of abuse? Truly only a story written by a man could be so predictable and boring), and lacked any semblance of depth.

Overall I think the illustrator of this series should ditch the writer and pair themselves with someone much better but what do I know, I’m just a simply book reviewer.

<Spoiler>

A magnificent book. Really nice and emotive drawings, with great coloring (especially in the last chapter!). A well constructed story with interesting motives and ideas. The conclusion is very good and conveys a clear message on war and violence. A great read and quite concise too!
