I grew up in an abusive home.  This book gave me all the feels for Atlas and broke my heart for him.  How could a mother not want her son.  I admired the love that Lily and Ryle had.  I respect the hell out of them for choosing their daughter.  As sad and heartbreaking as it was.  I love it was based on her parents marriage.  It gave me more insight to my mother and her struggles she likely faced.

Great book!

This book makes you feel all types of emotions. I was excited, sad, angry, hopeful and so much more. It was deep and reading the author’s notes gave it so much more meaning. I didn’t want to put it down!

I've cried. I've laughed. I've put the book down and walked away, full of anger.

This book hit me in a place that hurts. Hit me in a place that took me back years and made me proud.

I think everyone, EVERYONE, should read this. There's so many lessons to learn and it's an important one. My favourite CoHo book and one that I'll hold close to me forever.

4.5 ⭐️ but that’s not an option lol. Definitely some cheesy parts that seem unnecessary but a good story nonetheless. Painstakingly sweet and incredibly painful at moments. I had some serious anxiety getting through parts of it but I had to know the ending which is always a sign of a good book to me. Not had to know…but wanted to know. Idk if I loved it enough to read It Starts With Us (let me know if it’s worth it,maybe??) because I’m not a big romance reader, but I definitely I enjoyed this one. Only picked it up because it was so raved about but it was worth it.

This isn’t a love story… second Colleen Hoover book I’ve read and she’s just not my choice of author.
