I love Kate being herself trying to become LA’s new superhero. She’s a mess and she knows that, also trying to improve always and help everyone who needs it. I can’t stop loving her

1. Why does there need to be a "Watson" character. By that, a love interest. Just. Why?

2. Is this about to become exactly like the Patsy Walker/Hellcat series?

3. Oh hey, Amon.

Ya'll I was excited for this title, but I'm starting to have my doubts. Like cool lgbt representation, but Kate is basically granting Ramone privilege to stalk her ex while offering no-mercy to the male stalker. It feels like a weird double-standard unless I'm forgetting something from the first issue.

I'm just not sure.

I'm reading this right after issue #1, and the story is getting much more interesting to me. If someone had summarised it as "not the stalker's fault, really," I would have rolled my eyes a bit - exactly as Kate does - but it becomes clear, as the comic goes on, that something much more sinister is happening. Dodgy people are doing dodgy things, yes, but there's a level of outside force, a sort of mind control, that's altering people's behaviour, and for the worse. I thought it was quite creepy, actually - and effectively underlined by the apparent inability of the police department to do anything useful about the situation. Stalking's always been difficult to address, or so I've heard, because so much of it skates the line between legal and not (even if the moral issue is quite clear). Anyway, I am invested now.

Fine, but there’s some rough storytelling and some even rougher dialogue here. Hope this gets out of set up mode soon.

10 Reasons Why Kate Bishop Is My Feminist Idol

1. She does not understand why some guys are total creeps, nor does she want to. Kate Bishop does not want to hear your bullshit excuses, Larry.

2. Kate does not accept the idea that a man stalking a woman or obsessing over her equals love. She will beat you up if you believe that.

3. Larry, I said she does not want to hear your bullshit excuses. (Even if you might be undermine control. That is to be determined.)

4. Like me, Kate is outraged at the crap excuses police give when refusing to help protect women. Especially when it's coming from another woman.

5. She refuses to back down even when faced with opposition. Her client comes first, and she's going to do what she has to in order to help her feel safe.

6. Kate Bishop is a little too busy right now for your romantic subplot. I see right through you, Quinn. She's got superheroing to do.

7. I really can't put this in words so please refer to the panels where Kate takes down a couple of creeps harassing a girl in a dark alley. Beautiful work, just beautiful.

8. Kate Bishop is an alley to other women: the girl in the alley, Mikka, and now Ramona. She has other women's backs, and isn't that the most important thing about feminism?

9. Kate does not need a man to accompany her into a cult meeting. She will be fine on her own. (Maybe?)

10. God, I just love Kate Bishop so much. Thank you, Kelly Thompson, for this awesome comic!
