I received a free copy of this book in exchange for my honest review. That doesn't change how much I enjoyed it one little bit.

In other series in this universe Marion was a side character that I always wondered what she would have to say. What was she thinking and feeling. In this book S.M. Reine did a wonderful job of answering that for me.

Marion is a super powerful mage but she has lost her memory. She must struggle to figure out who she is and who she can really truly trust. her instincts are good even without her memory and she trusts the handsome doctor (with secrets of his own) who helps her recover. As they venture across the country they become closer and she becomes a much more down to earth girl. Yet, once they reach their destination she learns that things were not what they appeared and her role as the Voice of God is trying to be used in ways she doesn't yet understand. Will she make the correct decisions? Will she pick the handsome doctor or the exuberent fae prince?

I can't wait to find out what will come next for this pair.

Cast In Angelfire starts with our heroine, Marion, waking up in a hospital bed after an assassination attack. She remembers nothing about who she is, or why anyone would be trying to kill her.

Marion enlists the help of her "human" doctor to help get her to where she thinks her family is. They catch up with Connig, from the Autumn Court, who insists that Marion is his girlfriend. Marion and Lucas follow him back to the court where she finds she is treated like a princess. The problem is, she is still getting attacks. She can trust no one.

Cast In Angelfire kept me guessing on who was on Marion's side and who was trying to kill her. She gets glimpses of her past whenever her and Lucas touch, but that is not very often. He tries to avoid the two of them touching as much as possible. I'm still a bit confused on his insistence in protecting Marion. Especially considering her enemies are all fae and he claims to be a human. Now I thought this was going to turn into a love triangle, which really would have driven me nuts, but Lucas's determination not to touch Marion skin to skin kind of kept it from going in that direction.

Rebecca Mitchell did a good job with the narration. There was good inflection in the characters voices, even when Marion gets a bit whiny.

I'm glad that this series continues on and hopefully Marion will gain more of her memories, especially after the surprise at the ending. She sets herself up pretty well for future installments. This review was originally posted on Rantings of a Reading Addict

This was an interesting take on an Angel novel! I have read quite a few books about Angels and Supernaturals, but this was fresh and different. A new spin! Marion has amnesia and they're not quite sure what has caused it. However, everyone around her seems to want her dead EXCEPT Luke, whom she just happened to find (or rather was taken to) in an effort to find someone else without quite knowing why. In this novel, the Angels aren't the decent loving good guys you'd expect them to be. In fact, nothing is what it seems. Keep both eyes open and pay attention to everything!! I love how the author writes in the "muscle memory" information, while at the same time writes how things feel blank and unfamiliar to the character. It gives us, as readers, something tangible to identify with as well as a deep emotional connection. I would recommend this book and I cannot wait to get my hands on book 2!!

The story is set 15 years after "Genesis" happened many mortals were turned into magical creatures. Many died and many were left the same. This event causes vampires, faeries, angels, werewolves and many other combinations of creatures to be formed.

Marion Garin is a half Mage/half Angel and apparently has very strong powers. The only problem is she wakes up in the hospital without her memory and assassins out to kill her. Dr. Lucas Flynn is the doctor treating her and helps her find some of her magic and stay alive in the process. Marion does not know who to trust as nobody is as they seem.

I really enjoyed this book and look forward to the next one in the series.
