A charming and biting novella. It’s delightful to watch this 17 girl navigate the aftermath of her mother’s disappearance and the publishing industry’s hunger for her story, she does so with such wit, grace and frankness that it’s a pleasure to read. The commentary on a supposed honourable industry desperate to disadvantage and manipulate people in search of their desired narrative compared to the supposed morally bankrupt criminal parents who raised this young girl with care and taste, was great to read. This was a quick satirical look at capitalism profiting off people’s trauma with a great sense of humour, would recommend to anyone.
