This book just didn't do it for me. While I've read the first two books in the series and knew the male characters somewhat, the trope of "female dresses like male so she can survive in society" just didn't work for me--the female character just didn't grab me and by the end I was ready for the book to be done.

A bit more development, how she got the job, some previous conversations would have been nice. When we meet the hero they're already in love.

What happens when an uptight Duke meets a free-spirited female? Well, she wasn't actually a girl when they met - she was disguised as a man so she could get a position as the Duke's secretary - and she was good at her job - right up until the Duke found out that Adam was really Olivia. Since being a female and his secretary would ruin her he decides to send her to London and help her get an appropriate job - like a flower vendor. Instead, Olivia finds out she is a member of an influential ton family who take her in. The Duke decides to go to London to look for an appropriate wife (even though he has feelings for Olivia) and is thrown for a loop when he sees her there.
Ms Devon finds a way to make what could be a stodgy, boring duke into an interesting character as we see his struggles to do the right thing while yearning for a woman he thinks he cannot have. I love stories where the hero has to work for his happily ever after and this is an enjoyable journey to get there.
