I couldn’t put it down. Maybe it’s because I’m exactly the same age as Alice. Maybe it’s because I have three kids just like she did. Maybe it’s because I was reading it on my way to a reunion of sorts where I was catching up with people I hadn’t seen in 10 years. Whatever it was, the book really made me think over the past 10 years and how much things had changed. I loved the mystery of what had happened in her life to make her such a different person in 10 years, and how your expectations end up being different from your reality. All in all, I loved it!
Good quick read - sometimes a little too familiar for my own comfort. Made me want to hug and kiss Ryan :)
I enjoyed the most overall story. I’m giving a 4 star (really a 3.5) because it a good story, but there are some parts that I felt were unnecessary and it made me just want to get to the end faster than maybe necessary.
Also, I’d like to say I didn’t think I would need the epilogue because the last chapter sufficed, but after reading the epilogue I’m even happier with the what Alice chose. It was realistic and showed all sides to the coin (I’m trying not to give spoilers).
