It was hard to get into initially, but then the story started to move along once the husband came into the picture. I wasn’t a huge fan of the journaling personally.

I like Big Little Lies more, but it could be because I liked the way it turned out in the show.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Imagine waking up and thinking you were living your life from 10 years ago; this is exactly what happens to Alice Love in What Alice Forgot by Liane Moriarty. Told mainly from the POV of Alice, the story follows her journey from the moment she wakes up in the gym after hitting her head thinking it is 1998 but it is actually 2008, and the week that follows trying to live her current life whilst her memory is in the past. There are also two other POV’s; one from Alice’s sister, Elisabeth told via journal entries and, one from her Grandmother, Frannie, told via a blog post. The story is predominantly about Alice’s memory loss but there is focus about how people and relationships can change over time. It portrayed the message that each chapter of your life holds its own significance and meaning at the time. The story was uncomplicated and enjoyable. Trigger warnings worth mentioning: infertility, death and miscarriage.

I read the book for book club. I enjoyed the book. It was an interesting premise, having your past self judging your life. As an adult I often look back and judge my life from my older self's point of view. I think I my younger self would judge my life differently. I think the author also really understands the good, bad, and ugly in female relationships.

I liked "Big Little Lies" better.
