I like that this comic had a lot of action! Amazing Ash’s superpowers of being very fast and strong were awesome, as she could run around bad guys to make them dizzy and tie them up.

Ah Ma’s superpowers were also amazing because she could fly and stretch, and she is different from the normal Ah Mas.

If I could be a superhero, I would want to have a jetpack to fly around, and sticky shoes to help me walk on walls and ceilings. Then I can search for bad guys and save people from dangerous places.

I didn’t really like that the Flat Boys joined Ash, Ah Ma, Zoe and Buddy because I don’t think they can be trusted. Bullying people is not acceptable even if they wanted to get money to buy food for themselves and their younger siblings.

Mummy: How wonderful that a girl and her grandma were the heroines in this graphic novel! Kids need to see that girls can be superheroes too, or rather, that anyone can be a superhero. Meimei has been flipping through ‘Amazing Ash & Superhero Ah Ma’ on her own, and asking me lots of questions!

I thought that the topic of dementia was handled well, as it showed the experiences of both the “patient” and the caregiver. It was sad to see Ah Ma being confused, and even more so when she spoke honestly about how she had to teach Ash as much as she could, before she forgot everything.

Like N, I did have my reservations about the Flat Boys, but I guess it’s also important to have compassion for others and to give second chances. It was nice that Ah Ma agreed to step out of her comfort zone by actively going around to rescue those in need, and to see all of them working together for the good of society.
