"Wow, No Thank You" was my first Irby read, and I really enjoyed it; so I was excited to read more of her essays. Meaty was actually her first novel and it's just as awesome, if not more so!
Wow, No Thank You probably made me laugh more because it really leaned it to the vulgar grossness of life. Meaty also made me laugh, but also focused more on Irby's earlier life, her childhood, losing her mother, and growing up and learning to adult.
Again, 100% worth listening to her audiobooks because she narrates them herself, and her voice really adds even more to the experience.
Her books aren't for everyone. She is very open and candid about everything from her sex life to her VERY DETAILED life with Chron's disease. She is unashamed and has no filter and I love it.

This was delightfully funny, hilarious, at times relatable, and sometimes a bit awkward. :P I have to say that I didn't quite like the Nell parts, thankfully those weren't too long, but still. The rest was just fabulous. And oh so honest. She doesn't shy away from telling us what is going on in her life. Her Crohn's, the diarrhoea that explodes all over everything (and the harrowing times during sex). About her past and her parents, especially her mom. About her weight, about her love life. Oh gosh, all that sex talk. :P As I said she is quite honest and open about things. But I love her voice, she has a voice that makes you want to read on. Makes you more curious about what she has to say. I am definitely going to check out her other books. :)
Plus points to the cover. I would definitely recommend this book to everyone.
