3.8 - I enjoyed this really because I resonated with the characters so much specifially with what Lauren was going through as far as her mindset of how a relationship and marriage should be. There were times where I just rolled my eyes though, like, really girl, come on (but i cried too) lol

I picked this up because I was in a bit of a reading slump and I knew TJR could always help pull me out of that. Similar to some of her earlier books, they are more romance driven, but what I enjoyed in this novel was the, in my opinion, very original storyline she crafted regarding a marriage on the rocks and taking a break. The character development and reflections Lauren made were inspiring and I found myself very much so rooting for her, in whatever decision she ended up making. It was quick moving but still thoughtful, emotional but not too sad, and overall a joy to read!

3.5 // Miss Taylor Jenkins Reed KNOWS how to write a book. Her dialogue is unparalleled. This was not my fav of her’s especially when comparing it to Daisy Jones or Evelyn Hugo but it does go to show her range and true ability to just WRITE.

So I managed to read (and listen) all Taylor Jenkins Reid books and I have to say that this one is my favorite of all. It's nice to see a different perspective of relationships and what to do when it doesn't work. Should you give up all together, get a divorce, should you fight for it? The entire book is an exploration of that and such a welcoming change after all the initial-romance books.
