Ok, I'm not proud I love this series, but its a great not-so-guilty pleasure!

This book was more interesting to me in the series than the previous one... but still not as great as the first couple. The entire book I was waiting for more and more of Eric and it just didn't seem to happen to the extent that I wanted it to. I think I am over Quinn... and am hoping that the next book puts a stop to that relationship... which I think it may. All and all I enjoyed the book and am looking forward to seeing what happens in the next book. I am curious to see how Charlaine Harris manages to pull all these conflicting love stories and other worldly threads together!

Another great, saucy tale. I really enjoyed the roadtrip with Sookie and I look forward to reading the next one. There are a few loose ends left open with this book that I'm looking forward to seeing the conclusion.

I read this book for the gigantic event towards the end. This time round I really appreciated the foreshadowing and the clues that were given.

Sookie has changed so much from the first few books and the dynamics of her relationships wth the other characters is ever changing. I would be content to read about this world without anything major happening simply because the world is complex with many nuances that it is interesting enough.

Harris builds the world up a little more with each book. Love it!

What I Did Like:
+Vampire politics are on full display in this one. Sookie is traveling with the vampires so you get front row seats to a few new traditions and ceremonies, which is pretty cool.
+Quinn. He’s a great character and he brings an interesting relief from the vampire boys Sookie has a habit of hanging around. He almost adds maturity, which is weird considering most of her previous boyfriends have been vampires well over Quinn’s age.
+Two telepaths in the same location brought up the opportunity for some fun lessons on telepathy and some good experimenting. I enjoyed finding out the solution to their experiments, but I also enjoyed the fact that they conducted them to learn about their own gifts.

Who Should Read This One:
-Fans of the series will enjoy more vampire politics and things you’ve been likely wondering about. Plus, the danger is certainly upped toward the end of this one, meaning the next one should bring about more intensity as well.

My Rating: 3 Stars
Not a bad book, but definitely not one that would stand alone. Read the rest of the series first.
