ყურმოკვრით მქონდა გაგონილი ამ წიგნზე, შემთხვევითაც ვიყიდე და სასიამოვნოდ გაოცებულიც დავრჩი! ძალიან საინტერესო რამეა! თვითონ ამბავიც, მოყოლის სტილიც და სტილების მიქსიც მაგარია! ცოტათი [b:Кысь|2132729|Кысь|Tatyana Tolstaya|https://images.gr-assets.com/books/1204332556s/2132729.jpg|3535] მომაგონა, მაგრამ ეს რომანი თუ დიდი მოთხობა (როგორაა Повесть ქართულად?) უფრო კლასიკურს აწვება. ამბობენ საროკირისგან მოკლასიკურო რამის დაწერა მაგარი მოულოდნელი იყოო, მაგრამ სხვა არაფერი მაქვს წაკითხული, ვერაფერს ვიტყვი.

გირჩევთ წიგნზე არანაირი, თუნდაც 2-წინადადებიანი, შესავალი ან აღწერა არ წაიკითხოთ - მთავარი კაიფი მოულოდნელი სურპრიზებია, რომლებიც გაფანტულია ძალიან ტონკად და ეფექტურად მთელს წიგნში.

ხუთიანს იმიტომ არ ვუწერ, რომ მთლიანი მუღამის გასაგებათ ალბათ XIX-XX საუკუნის რუსულ ლიტერატურას მაგრად უნდა ვიცნობდე, არა მარტო დოსტოევსკი-ტოლსტოის, აშკარად ბევრი გადაძახილ-გადმოძახილია სხვა მწერლებთან, რომლებსაც ისე არ ვიცნობ (ალბათ ტურგენევი, ჩეხოვი, ბუნინი, გოგოლი... პასტერნაკიცო ამბობენ).

What originally drew me to this novel was actually what was barely featured at all: zombie apocalypse. That is perhaps what makes Sorokin's writing so unexpected, full of that dark humor that so characterizes a lot of Russian literature. The Blizzard flirts with all of these familiar Russian novelistic tropes (I mean, it's about an existential snowstorm...). The novel can be an excruciating read -- moments bordering on magical realism, satire about a modern Russia, the repetitive struggle of travel with no satisfaction of an arrival. Tobias Schwartz writes that "you don't read this bewitchingly beautiful, profound, and ruthlessly critical book in small doses, you read it in one go." Maybe it was all a little lost on me during my quick read of this over a few nights, but it didn't quite give me that dystopian edge that the novel teased from its opening. But then again, the point isn't about Garin getting to Dolgoye. It's about everything in between.
