I love Cathy Kelly, but i just keep comparing every book i read by her with Just Between Us, the first book I’ve ever read by Kelly. This one was nice and sweet, but not for me. I loved how It talks about trauma, how healing isnt linear, how it involves a l o t of pretending and faking. The little evocative cues that we are unaware of. I love how she wrote about it all.

Too whingey and trying to be mysterious, when it's just annoying.

A lovely, light, easy read. Freya is a well-known chef with a busy home / family life in Ireland.

None of the characters in this book do anything for me. The main character is the worst with too many character flaws only for it to be all tied up in an unrealistic manner in the end. Just hated every second of this novel.

I enjoyed this, it’s typical Cathy Kelly, guaranteed to entertain and enthrall from the first page. I have one criticism that it didn’t seem quite as good as some of her other books, but that is just a personal opinion I think I’ve enjoyed other plots and characters more. But this is still a steady, entertaining read, full of drama, family, friendship, basically everything you’d expect from Cathy so always recommended
