I thought this was a good story. It was certainly quick and very easy to read and had little in the way of angst. As for both main characters they were likable and shared a couple of hot moments. I just didn't really feel like they had much in the way of chemistry and the story itself did have potential but in the end just felt a little rushed and at times not too believable. But overall it did keep me engaged and I did enjoy it, so would happily it to others too.

I guess this one just wasn't for me. It's my first from this author. I know the Entangled Brazen books are usually on the shorter side, and I typically like that about them. But, I think this would have benefited from a little more length in order to insure the author could do more showing and less telling.
Hawke owns a string of motorcycle shops, along with his father. His father has been married 9 times, and Hawke has accepted many, many step-siblings over the years, and made them a family. As the oldest, he felt it was his duty. But, now, his dad has run off and gotten married again, without telling him. That wouldn't be an issue except for the fact that the last wife tried to steal their company when she left, and Hawke is not having it. If he gets married, he can get controlling shares away from his dad and take over, to make sure the company is never in jeopardy again. But he's never had any plans to get married.
Amy is the daughter of Hawke's father's new wife. She is a ballet dancer in France, but she's injured, and she's in town to get physical therapy. She was told she could stay in the house by her new stepfather, but she expects to be alone. She isn't. Also, her brother's in a tight bind and needs to borrow money she doesn't have. She's not sure what she's going to do about it. Then she meets Hawke, and they decide to help each other out.
Amy and Hawke have some chemistry, but I just wasn't understanding their connection. He mostly just acts like a dick, and then she gives him a hard time, but forgives him. I wasn't really connecting to their coupling. They were both keeping secrets, which was understandable given their situation. But, even once they'd settled into a routine and started to get comfortable with each other, neither of them offered up their truths. I felt like a lot of this story was telling, and not showing. We heard about things after the fact, and it severely lessened the impact of them, in my opinion. I just never really connected to either character, separately, or as a couple, so it was hard to care much about them, or their relationship.
Everything just moved so quickly. I liked the idea of some of the side characters, but I don't feel like I saw any of them long enough to get attached. The whole thing just fell a little flat for me. That being said, I would be willing to read something else from this author. Especially in a longer format, where maybe she had more time and space to develop her characters, and their relationship, a little more.

Hawke's dad is on wife #9. Can you imagine??? All of this wedded bliss has turned him off of even the idea of marriage. All he wants to focus on is keeping the family business safe from what he sees as another gold digger. He's just shy of having enough shares to take over the company. To get the remaining shares he needs the last thing he wants: a wife.
