Incredible. The third installment of the Red Rising trilogy is the perfect mix of pleasure and pain to keep things interesting without losing that spark of enchantment that has persisted throughout the series. Darrow and his friends persist through all manner of hardships, leaving you rooting for them and holding your breath as your eyes dart ahead to find out what happens next. I could hardly put it down. I highly recommend all three books, and can't wait to see what Pierce Brown comes up with next.

A near perfect book. I was sad to finish it. I laughed, I cried, I gasped, I pondered. Wow. This was definitely my favourite of the series so far. The characters are so well developed by this book you truly feel attached to them. Their dynamics make for some truly immersive moments. Pierce Brown’s writing was, as usual, exquisite. I was particularly awed by his use of metaphorical language when describing sensations. It was great. I wish I could read it again with new eyes.
