I’ve been reading this book for ages! Learned many things. Should probably go back to the beginning and start reading again.

the tone the author uses when talking about Natives is not great. lots of past tense, which i want to ask him, you do know natives are still alive and living in the pacific northwest right. had to DNF when he talked about David Douglas’s biographer sexualizing a Native girl.
