This series just keeps getting weirder and weirder. As with the other books, I got annoyed with all the jumping around and bizarre-for-the-sake-of-bizarreness stuff. Also, I think all the books are way too long. There are plenty of little detours in the plot that could be cut out for the sake of clarity and brevity. However, I like Sam, Astrid, and the others enough to care about what happens to them, and I am intrigued enough by all the craziness that I want to find out what happens in general.

I enjoyed the book, probably least favorite of the series so far though. It definitely gives some great things that I’ve learnt though to do with the mystery of what’s going on. Especially with the outside perspective. I was so excited when I saw that. with it being pitch black most of the time it wasn’t so fun for my imagination haha. Imagining barely seeing people and landscapes. I loved the last chapters though , the later chapter being really emotional for me.

The stakes are as high as they can get. I seriously could not put this book down. Also, may I just point out, I absolutely adore Edilio. The pace for this book was perfect, every chapter moved the story along. The characters had difficult choices to make, and there was also development for them. Penny, oh geez, Penny really gave me goosebumps.

To be honest, I would recommend the entire series just because of this book. You just get the sense of 'the world is ending', and you actually get concerned for all the characters. You've seen them grown, you've seen them develop, and the endgame is coming for them all. Amazing.
