A celebration of the creativity and joy and potential of black children.

The photographs and make-up/costuming were very cool.

This is a fantastic, poetic book about embracing who you are and being proud of who you choose to be. The photos are stunning and so coolly styled.

A stunning book filled with creative, fantastical photographs of Black children affirming their identities and fulfilling their dreams. Pair this text with I Am Every Good Thing by Derrick Barnes and Gordon C. James.

100 out of 5 stars!

The photography is incredible. I love the afrofuturism and the poetry is truly chef's kiss. Absolutely beautiful and inspirational.

The pictures are the real star here--truly stunning photography with a different child in each spread (with all of the featured in different takes in the endpapers). That the kids aren't credited/named in a note or copyright is a little weird but I guess it's a privacy thing?

Reminiscent of some of Shelley Rottner and Susan Kuklin's work but more modern and inclusive than both.
