***Audiobook Review***

So, I’m a bit of an audiobook snob. I shunned it for a LONG time - listening to a book is NOT reading a book; and I’m still EXTREMELY picky when it comes to selecting which books I listen to and which vocal performers I put on my short list of favorites. I can say without a doubt that I would rather listen to this series than read it (and trust me…that’s a HUGE compliment).

Joel Leslie IS these characters to me…and if I were to just read it myself, I’d hear his voice in my head. His perfect vocal performance helps me visualize these characters in my head that I would completely miss out on if I simply read it myself.

I feel a little tipsy listening to these books because they just make me so ridiculously happy (I look like a little bit of a loon while listening because I constantly have a smile on my face during each story). The cast of characters is outstanding (and I’m 100% confident they’re made so much better with Mr. Leslie’s performance).

If you haven’t listened to this series…you absolutely must.

Well, I really was delighted by this book. And, for once, I enjoyed a lot the multiple POVs, which worked really well in telling this story.

I also had a lot of fun with the kids showing up at the White Party and with all the subsequent shenanigans that it provoked.

The plot was... a little bit on the wild side *laughs* Nevertheless, I enjoyed it a lot because I wasn't totally sure about what was really going on nor about who the bad guys were in the story

And Sydney was awesome here, even when she managed to lose the kids *dies laughing*

Hey, I even liked Keith here, and that's a huge improvement :P

As always, I liked the narration and I had a mighty good time listening to this :D

To begin with, I love the Tyler Foxe Mysteries series. No, it's not great, edifying literature; neither is it terribly original, but it so undeniably charming and fun, an aspect that is only enhanced by Joel Leslie's voice acting which not only creates distinctive characters but helps sell some of the more ridiculous writing. Even the sex scenes-which normally aren't really my thing-are compelling despite the occasional over the top ridiculousness (see: butt plug).

That said, this book was just alright. I don't feel cheated for buying it (it was on sale), but I didn't find it as engrossing as previous installments. What I did like about it was that it finally let us get to know all of the supporting characters a lot better by switching up the narrative perspective. Unfortunately, I think this also had the effect of making the story feel disjointed and unfocused to the point that I often find myself drifting and losing what was happening. While I'm interested in the supporting characters, I'm mostly here for Tyler and Keith. Perhaps it would have been better if Walsh would have tried to do less and not tried to explore EVERY character all in one book; maybe focusing a little more on one couple alongside the mains in this book and another in the next, so on and so forth. Still, worth a listen if you love the series though.

As with all of the Skyler Foxe Mysteries, I enjoyed this book! While I wasn't a huge fan of the term "Indians" being used to refer to Native Americans, I did enjoy the shifts in POV as it allowed the reader to get to know other characters more intimately.
