This was a great follow up to the second in the series, and just as tense and page-turny. I loved the vampire-werewolf alliance, and the epilogue was interesting. My literary crush on Jacob Black has grown hugely, and I'm fearful that our heroine won't end up with him. Actually, I'd bet she doesn't, and I've got some ideas about who he'll "imprint" upon (if that's the correct usage?). I'm off this afternoon to get the final book in the series, and I've got super high expectations.

I am THIRTY TWO YEARS OLD DAMMIT and I have read these books SO MANY TIMES and STILL I can spend a SOLID DAY utterly compelled by this weird, angry girl and her mundane love triangle with two manipulative men (and, okay, some occasions of mortal peril) and I CAN'T EVEN BE MAD ENOUGH ABOUT IT TO GIVE IT LESS THAN A FOUR STAR RATING

Reread. This was the book that showed me how much I hate love triangles.

This book really is so much worse than I remembered. Love that she gave pretty major characters some backstories (finally) but did one really have to be a confederate soldier? Bella is really in the most codependent toxic love triangle. Edward "I can't exist without you" Cullen is more boring than white bread. Jacob "kiss me or I'm going to kill myself" Black is somehow even worse. Ugh luckily there's a nostalgia factor
