I Picked this up on a whim. Didn't expect to love it as much as I did. It was definitely darker than I expected, which was welcomed. I listened to the audio on Libby and was sad to see the next books in the series weren't available.

I read this in school but am returning to finish the series because, why not? The book is really heavy-handed in places since it’s "baby’s first totalitarianism."

Read this first as a middle schooler, comforting to read these books again.

This was a good throw back. It is like weird because it feels like it’s set before technology but it’s not. Also it’s a little dark for a children’s book which is surprising. It’s an interesting topic and dystopian setting. There was some sexist elements which was a bummer.

An interesting dystopian middle grade book. It does bring up some disturbing ideas that may be a little difficult for young readers.
