Fun! While I wish Kate could have done a little more actual detective work - she sort of lampshaded that she wasn't a good detective - it was still a tasty little morsel of crime mystery, heightened by the vampire alt-history world. In the best possible way of making this comparison, it reminded me of the early Sookie Stackhouse books, where someone ended up dead, and Sookie had to figure it out - standard mystery fare - amped up by all nature of supernatural beasties. The Anno Dracula timeline at this point has become quite the universe of its own.
