Book 1 in the series.

I enjoy Ms. Goldenbaum's knitting series, so I decided to give this new series a try. As the first book in the series, she does a good job introducing all the characters, but it slowed the pace of the book down so much that I really struggled to maintain interest. I ended up putting this book down several times. before finally the characters started actually working on solving the mystery.

Once it got going, things moved fairly quickly and I enjoyed the story. I will look forward to the next book, and hope that all the long intros are out of the way.

*I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book given to me by the publisher, via NetGalley.*

I won this book in a Goodreads Giveaway.

The author spent a good deal of time introducing us to the town and its inhabitants. I appreciated that, because there were a good number of characters. I feel like the reader got to know who each person was and I had little trouble keeping them apart in my mind. This provided a good foundation for future books in this series.

As for the mystery itself, the bad guy wasn't too difficult to figure out, but it was still a good cozy and I enjoyed reading it.

I liked this book and found it engrossing and entertaining.
Unfortunately it took so long to start the mystery part that I was started to thinking I was reading women's fiction featuring the relationship of a group of women.
When the mystery part finally started I can say it was good, no plot hole, and it kept me guessing till the end.
I am curious about the next installment to meet againg the likable cast of characters.
Recommended!
Many thanks to Kensington Books and Netgalley for this ARC, all opinions are mine.

A new series by Sally Goldenbaum? Sign me up! Crestwood, Kansas is similar to the "I must visit there village of Sea Harbor, MA" with a new set of villagers to meet & learn about. Typical in writing style, Ms. Goldenbaum pulls the reader in with a murder & a dear set of friends. I know little of quilting, and did not feel confused while reading the quilting sections. The murderer was a surprise reveal. Thank you to NetGalley & Kensington Books for the opportunity to review a delightful new series!

What a fun start to a series! I can't wait to read more of these as they come out.
This is the second cozy mystery in a row I've read that deals with a group of people working to solve a mystery, instead of a single person and I am loving the change. It's so enjoyable to read about a group of women working together to solve problems.
The story is mostly told from the perspective of Po, a sixty something year old women and a character whom I would love to have as a grandmother. Another thing I'm not used to in my stories, and having read this one, I want more older female leads! Grandmas are BA too!
It has the comforting feel that I pick these books up for, exciting murders that liven things up, and everything I want in my stories.
As a rabid quilter myself, I enjoyed hearing about the projects they worked on, and it even gave me a few ideas in my own projects.

No warning apply.
