I LOVED the plot, but I was disappointed to find that it is almost identical to Season One of the new series. I was hoping for some additional insight. I also realized halfway through that it is not actually a continuation of Jane Austen’s version, but a new interpretation. I recommend reading this prior to watching the show!

This book is amazing♥️ probably my beat read this year. Might be my fave Austen novel although she never finished it! Sidney Parker and Charlotte Heywoods love story is killing me!

This book is good, but it lacked something in the last parts that brought it down from 5 to 4 stars. I still very much enjoyed it and want to see exactly what Jane Austen wrote and where it left off. This is the first time I've noticed a non-white character - did Jane Austen write that character?

I've always felt that Jane Austen was an amazing social satirist and an excellent romance author, but I've cared more for the satire. This has social satire aplenty. I know there are other endings that have been written for Sanditon so I'll try another or two someday. The narration is excellent and I do recommend this book.

Nothing revolutionary but if you enjoyed the Sanditon tv programme then you'll enjoy revisiting it with this book

I loved it for 90% of the book. I even wrote it a glowing review when I still had a few chapters left because it felt like the story was ending. I was listening to the audio version, and I kept expecting it to end. In the last 10% it had three or four spots where it could have just ended. It felts like a show where it has a set number of episodes to hit but had wrapped up the plot four episodes too early.

Spoiler and the ending she finally went with was heartbreaking and not Austen-esque.
