man. idek. this book felt so long. by the end i was just skipping paragraphs bc all the characters did was monologue abt their mothers and their lives. goldmund was so boring like his character was a complete coward and imo didn’t rlly have much purpose apart from calling every woman he slept w “child-like” and never sticking to a single job HE GAVE HIMSELF😭narcissus was a slay but why was he even in the title considering from 20% in he just vanished and came back for the last 5% . idk what i expected but it wasn’t this sorry hermann babe but goldmund and narcissus should’ve had sex at least once cmon the ending was right there
