I like how the story between the two characters flow. It showed their past and the ways they grew from the time they were apart. And yet, Darcy would never forget Kincaid as he left behind a permanent reminder; their daughter Emma. The distance made Darcy stronger while Kincaid still struggled to find affirmation from his parents. Going back to Fortune's Island made Kincaid realize who he truly is and what he must do to find acceptance in himself. Meeting Darcy and finding about Emma strengthened his resolve.

I RECEIVED AN ADVANCE COPY OF THIS BOOK FROM THE AUTHOR THROUGH NETGALLEY IN EXCHANGE FOR MY HONEST REVIEW!!

This actually very different from the author's other works that I have read. It has a much more serious feeling to it, which makes it feel more realistic as well. It was shorter than I would have liked, but the story was fully fleshed out and felt complete. The introduction of the couple from the next book didn't overwhelm the plot of this one completely, it actually made a good bit of sense to me to have it in this story.

Kincaid and Darcy are star-crossed lovers that wind up conceiving a child together when they were young. There is a lot of deception that happens in this story, and a lot of mistakes made by Kincaid as well. In the end, they wind up finding their way back to one another. I didn't like the deception angle that much, but it made the story very realistic.

The setting was part quirky, part "I've seen it done before", but it did lend the story character and served to isolate the people on the island into their own small town. It did remind me a little of Marie Force's Gansett Island, but it had its own charm as well.

All in all, this is a book I would pay the money for, and I am very interested to continue the series!

Darcy Williams had her heart broken seven years ago when Kincaid Foster turned away from her and returned to his life of privilege. He's back on Fortune's Island and she's afraid he'll learn her secret. And, Darcy's not sure she can rein in those feelings she thought dead but now realizes were just dormant.

I enjoyed this story, particularly how it was presented. We learn about the foundation of Darcy and Kincaid's relationship through a series of flashback recollections, strategically placed in the context of the present. It was nice to see how the younger versions of the characters handled similar situations. It also helped me understand the depth of their emotions, which made it easier to accept how quickly they came together after he returned. Their relationship was sometimes sweet, sometimes frustrating and often steamy.

I liked the story, especially because both Darcy or Kincaid shared responsibility for the decisions made seven years earlier. I could understand each of their points of view and found myself going back and forth on who was more to blame, who was more sympathetic. The issues were colored in shades of gray, which made it a more interesting read. I'm looking forward to continuing the series.

A perfect summer beach read! A small New England beach town, a second chance at romance, an adorable little girl, and a rescue dog--what more could you need?

And Then Forever is the first in Ms. Jump's new Fortune's Island series, and it's definitely a series I'll be reading more from. I love the setting and the characters we've met so far--our hero and heroine, Kincaid and Darcy, as well as Kincaid's sister Abby, Darcy's family-by-choice Jillian, Whit, Gracie, Carter, and Nona (not to mention Emma and Mooch) are well-drawn and true to life, people you'd definitely want to hang out with on the beach or grab a burger with at the Love Shack.

Altogether this was a great summer vacation read--whether you were at the beach, or just wished you were.

My only complaint with book one is that I would have liked to have seen Kincaid, Darcy, and Emma spend more time together as a family--the book's over almost as soon as they're all really together for the first time with all parties knowing who they are to each other. Hopefully future books in the series will give us plenty of glimpses into their HEA to make up for it :)
