As a latinx tauiwi here I found so many places of clarity, belonging and hope in this collection. All through I was feeling all sorts of mournfulness, a bit of envy/admiration (it fuels me as an impressive book, capturing a glimpse of the collective roots of the asian/pacific community- i wish for the latinx community here, this too) and curiosity, sentimentality for what has been realised.

I read among these writers the ways in which colonisation and culture has had its effects externally and internally. The ways alienation and exile has vividly attacked-- and I see hope in the many ways people have lived against that. How healing it is, the intimate and impressive ways we can elucidate, articulate and navigate our histories, our current contexts and our futures.

Incredibly powerful and de-alienating, traumatic and healing, spiritually re-establishing and a wonderfully diverse read. There are many eyes of the world.

I read this very slowly every few days over breakfast. Definitely recommend. x
