I had a copy of the book but I ended up listening to the audiobook. I honestly don’t think I would have finished the physical copy because I was very bored the first third of the book. Since I had the audiobook and things to do I continued to listen and finished it. Often unbelievable and frustrating, but it did entertain me at times and I wanted to know so much more about Pearl!

I loved Ausubel's No One is Here Except All of Us, so I had high hopes for this one. Unfortunately, it didn't quite do it for me. The portrayal of lab life is outdated at best, and the character interactions mostly seem...weird to me. The baby mammoth is cute, though, so there's that.
