like a 3.5, very interesting but he the second interviews seem unnecessary.

I've been wanting to read Borges for a while, and I figured starting with an interview would help me understand his work better.

There are a few gems in here, but you have to sift through a lot of useless stuff.

Borges has a totally fascinating and delightful mind, and the first interview in the book is both broad and deep, covering much of Borges' central literary themes. (Borges, like Calvino, does much better when not talking about women, however.)
