It’s so interesting, I’ve seen so many bad reviews for this book and about how Yangchen is like a side character but that was not my experience at all. I was awed by how smart and decisive she was. How she didn’t let things that were important to her go. I also felt so sad for her as she doesn’t have companionship like the other avatars did. She is truly a one woman army and I love her for it. I’m so excited to read the next book ❤️

Rounding up from 1.5. After loving the two Kyoshi books I was disappointed by this book following Yangchen. I agree with other reviews about how it was more about Kavik than Yangchen herself. Everything about the plot was just not as interesting to me. I'd probably see what others think of the next book in this series but I wouldn't recommend this one at this time.

Very slow, interesting story, good details. But slower than expected for an avatar story. Would still recommend if you’re a fan of the shows but it felt more like 1 long highly detailed episode. Not sure if I’ll continue the series.
