An iconic history book. A couple of outdated references for sure though, having been published in the 1990s e.g. Gary Glitter

I think what was really great about this Deary read was that I read about a bunch of history that I could talk about with my parents who were alive for some pretty significant events covered in this book. In some ways I got an introduction to the world through Horrible Histories as a little kid and I'm grateful to Terry Deary for making it as interesting and exciting as possible.
