I'm crying like a little girl. I finished this book and then had the awesome idea of watching the movie trailer and WHY DID I DO THAT?! WHY DO I DO THIS TO MYSELF?!

Just for the record, I am not a book crier...I don't cry easily while reading books. This made me ugly cry.

It is a great life-story, but you will cry, you will suffer.

I am not able to say much more. I need a moment.

The personalities of the characters were written very well, which translated into their behaviours, expressions, coping strategies, etc. The plot itself is not one I normally go for- the whole falling in love despite having an illness/disability trope, ending in tragedy. It’s very predictable. However, the characters and their dialogue were witty, quirky, deeply- thought out and very relatable and I couldn’t put the book down. I haven’t seen the movie, but I am interested in seeing how it compares.

Could have been a contrived, saccharine story, but Moyes created a complex story with well-rounded characters that I couldn't help but love.
*Note: There is some language for those who are sensitive to that.

“If you only read the books that everyone else is reading, you can only think what everyone else is thinking.” - Haruki Murakami, Norwegian Wood

When the movie was released last year, all my friends rushed to the bookstore, grabbed this book, and posted some corny status on facebook, oh how I despite it.
Eventually, when the hype is gone and having read honest reviews here, I decided to give "Me before you" a try. Totally worth the sore eyes and running nose.

The romance is almost cliche: cheerful optimistic girl meets arrogant distanced boy, change him like no other and they fell in love. Except one thing: the underlying theme on death and ethical choice. I won't argue if Will's choice is justified, because these questions will depend on your personal value and, hence, reflect who you are. Ultimately, what is a meaningful life to you? How can you make sense of death?

The writing style is okay, warm and casual, and characters seem real to me. Personally, I don't like how the point of view is shifted to other than MC in some chapters, but I can't really complain.

The movie (like most movies based on books) can't convey the complexities and character development (especially the struggle and Will's attitude at the beginning). But since it starred the charming Emilia Clarke with her sentient eyebrows (lol), I suggest you see it too, to have a better imagination of Louisa's quirky choice of clothes

This book was one of the saddest and most inspiring books I've ever read. It reminded me that life doesn't always run as smoothly as we would like. Every moment something could happen, that would change our life forever.

Lou Clark is a quirky young woman, who has her own style and her own methods, to help Will Traynor realise, that life is beautiful, even if he is sitting in a wheelchair. At the beginning it doesn't really look like one of those big romantic love stories, but after time you will notice, that you are in the middle of a very special story. The love between these two characters sneaked up on them and on you, whithout anyone noticing it.

I don't want to reveal to much about the ending, but I have to say that at first I didn't really like it. But after some time I realised that any other ending just wouldn't have fit the story.

I am really curious about the next book "after you" and what awaits Lou there.

This book was surprisingly good. I don’t often gravitate towards what is billed as “chick lit” and only read this book because someone gifted it to me.

Well I was very mistaken, this book had lots of depth and didn’t fall on the typical tropes that make me hate woman geared modern fiction. I both laughed and cried. This is a perfect summer read.

Oh the tears. I haven't cried this much over a book in quite awhile. My poor heart ㅠㅠㅠㅠ

This book is so much more amazing than I had thought. Can't believe it took me this long to give it a shot.

Surprisingly, I liked this book. It's not the genre I read normally but I quite enjoyed reading this book. I like it and I highly recommend it to everyone.
