I thoroughly enjoyed All About Her Thighs. Claire MacDougall was a real character that women could relate to. Whether you are old or young and trying to navigate church politics and the judgement that is thrust upon those who don't seem to fit the mold, you know someone who's experienced Claire's struggles. Her struggle extended into every area of her life. She managed to thrive and survive her own self imposed reputation as well as the demands of a demeaning job and thankless home life. Stuart is not a guy she'd consider dating. He's simply out of her league. With the encouragement of some unlikely people Stuart gets an opportunity to get to know Claire better. Will it be enough to get her to change her way of thinking about herself and God?

Overall this really was a good read. I just felt like the author was giving too much detail regarding the other characters. It seemed like I was reading two books in one; Clare and Stuart’s love story then Mr. and Mrs. Faulks drama. I’m sure I would’ve enjoyed both stories had they been their own entities but overall this is a good read.

It was okay

It was one of the slower paced books that I've read. It took way too long for the story to be interesting enough to finish reading. I almost didn't finish it, but I have this need to finish every book I read at least by the end. There were places in this book where it was obvious the writer was pushing her religious beliefs, so much so that it detracted from the books readability. It's understandable that a writer would want to spread her message, but it shouldn't come at the expense of sacrificing the story. Additionally, the book is supposedly about Claire and her life, but the book mainly focuses on the actions of the churchgoers. The subplot became the main plot.

It was ok

The story line was quite predictable. The author's writing was ok. I somehow was not able to connect to any character, hence the rating. But good book otherwise.
