I would have given it a higher rating if the ending wasn’t so disappointing

I loved this wild ride of a book. I don’t usually like thrillers but this is a bit hors-genre for me, as the traditional thriller tension build-up is cracked wide open here. Tension builds and eases all the time, mysteries and emotions are explained as we go, which kept the book moving along nicely. Overarching though, an explosive mount of action and tension at the end made the book even more impressive, it’ll stay with me for a long time. I really liked the detailed character explorations and the fact that nobody really was ‘the good guy’ and flawed characters abounded. Very realistic, although I usually like at least some likeable characters. Again, a wild ride, looking forward to reading more of her writing.

I'm really not sure what to think about this book... While I was reading it, after the first 100 pages or so, I was pretty into it and wanted to keep going to find out what happened next, but when I put it down for any length of time I had a hard time picking it back up again. Maybe because there are no chapters, so I knew I needed a decent chunk of free time, but also because I hated most of the characters. This book starts off pretty slow but gets really fast-paced towards the end. Mixed feelings, but very well written and it takes you on a WILD ride.

Outstanding in every way. Rogue eco-gardeners up against unfettered capitalism, but this book does not go where you might think it’s headed. Quite a ride.
