I only got to the third story in this collection before I gave up on it. The first was a very pedestrian Asimov story, the second was enjoyable, the third, "Rogue Moon," was dreadful. The dialogue and characters were unbelievably hackneyed and cliched. I tried to read it and finally gave it up as a bad job. There was a fourth story in the book, E. M. Forster's "The Machine Stops," which I had read fairly recently. It was a decent story, but not enough to make me think that there was any hidden gold in this collection. Very disappointing.

FANTASTIC! This is an amazing collection of SF stories! This one is even better than Volume 2A.

An excellent collection of earlier science fiction works. Some will feel a bit dated, but then some were written in the 30's. I may not have read this particular collection, but I've read all of the stories listed. Witches of Karres was expanded into a novel as well as some of the other stories, you are better off reading the novels.
