Felt a bit rushed I would have liked more details I just think the FMC in general like even in the main books doesn’t have much going on good or bad so a book soley about her was a risk but maybe if they showed us more things it would have been better

bro I hate Taryn so much…. Worst apology ever
I did appreciate knowing what Cardan said to her that day that made her cry.

Cardan and Jude from a 3rd party is so crazy. Why did I forget that Jude almost choked him out?! Anyways, Taryn is almost sympathetic in this book. Almost. She still sucks though because their little secret relationship was worse than I thought. Locke needs to be set on fire.

Still hate her Taryn...

but this was very cool written and I didn't realize how much of Blacks writing I have missed since reading the first trilogy!

Damn Taryn, you suck!
With a sister like that who needs enemies. Jude may not be perfect, but she deserved better.
I don’t know if this novella was supposed to make me sympathize with Taryn but it didn’t, it had the opposite effect. It’s written as If it was an apology letter and yet she doesn’t sound very apologetic. She’s still making excuses and blaming Jude for daring to strand up to their tormentors instead of humiliating herself and kissing their feet. She sold off her sister like that with no remorse whatsoever and yet she’s still speaking like she was the one wronged by her.
“You will have to forgive me because we are sisters!” she says at the end. The entitlement, my god! What a selfish and unlikable character.
