Beautiful and terrible. Wonderful and tragic. This is an amazing novel, and I absolutely loved it.
Pros:
The main character is unusual. Andrew 'Ender' Wiggin is completely unlike the majority of characters found in YA novels, and honestly reminded me most of Raymond E. Feist's Pug.
The situations, the worlds, are all beautifully terrible. The way in which the child soldiers are forced to deal with so much pain is very provoking, and yet very close to home.

Cons;
Ummm.....
It made me sad? No, it was a heart wrenching, beautiful kind of sad, so not a con.
Can't think of any. Sorry.

Brilliant. Hard to believe the main character is so young. Incredibly insightful look into the way children think and act and a brilliant scifi storyline. An excellent ending that I didn't see coming. A must read.

I first read this book just before starting college, and am revisiting it almost a decade later as I approach the end of graduate school. This book has so many interesting ideas and if you love it, you should definitely read speaker for the dead (the semi-standalone sequel). While this is a book about kids, it is certainly not a book written for kids. I think most adults can take something away from this book.

I'm stopping at 113. Just don't have time for endless garbage. I think I might have liked this more if I were a teenage boy at the time of publication. I wanted to press forward and finish, but I can't handle Card's choice of having young children spewing profanities, including the 6-year-old Ender. I'll wait for the 2013 movie. Asa Butterfield will be great as Ender.
